Text Size Text Size

A big man, with a big heart, offensive tackle John St. Clair has played in integral part in the St. Louis Rams community outreach efforts including Lineman in Motion, Campbell’s Chunky Lineman, Hometown Huddle, Get Into the Game character education, the Super Blood Drive for Champions, the Angel Tree holiday party and the Make-A-Wish Celebrity Server Dinner.

He has also visited local firefighters in recognition of our community’s “Everyday Heroes” and has served as the celebrity chair for Walk As One --- a diversity celebration. Additionally, St. Clair --- a 3rd round draft choice and graduate of the University of Virginia --- has been featured on the “Be A Player, Earn Your Degree” poster, which is distributed to area schools emphasizing the importance of a college education.

With so many off-the-field activities, what does he do for fun, where is his favorite place to vacation and what are his plans after football…

Find out this and more in this week’s “Player and Beyond with John St. Clair.”

What has been your most memorable football moment?
Katie, Scottsdale, AZ

I don’t really have one in particular, all of them really. Being a starter last year was really exciting to me.

Where is your favorite place to vacation?

Hawaii. I went there this offseason and enjoyed it a lot. It’s a beautiful place and I had a great time.

I know you were a University of Virginia Cavalier. What did you receive your degree in?

I received my bachelor’s degree in anthropology and I have started my master’s in counseling.

What do you do for fun in the offseason?

Sit back and watch tv. I don’t really have a lot of favorite shows; I watch mostly movies and one of my favorites in Ghostbusters.

If not for football, what career path would you have chosen?

I want to be a youth counselor when I’m done…either working in the school system or with the court system.

Who is the toughest defensive lineman that you have lined up against?

Michael Strahan.
